How to Choose the Right Tacoma Resume Writing ServiceThe Tacoma resume writing service is a great way to get your resume seen by the right people. After all, your resume is a big factor in deciding whether or not you will get a call back for an interview. You should consider yourself lucky to have someone read over your resume and think about it before they decide whether or not they would like to contact you. But that doesn't mean that your resume isn't important, it just means that it needs to be written in a certain way. Your Tacoma resume writing service can help you make sure that your resume is getting the attention it deserves. There are several factors that can go into choosing which resume to send out. One is how long your first job was. There's no sense sending out a resume that needs to be revisited if it has already been out of touch for four years. After all, how many people have been unemployed for over a year?Another thing to consider is the skill set you bring to a part icular job. For example, if you're a specialized writer, your resume will need to show that you've written in the past. Or if you're a great decorator, you'll need to show that you can handle a company's requirements.A good career coach can usually offer recommendations about what type of jobs are likely to be a good fit for you. He or she can also give you tips on how to write a resume that will not only attract the attention of the hiring manager, but get you a response from the one that you do choose. The hiring manager and his or her staff may not be in the most lucrative of positions, but they understand what it takes to land the jobs they do.By paying the Tacoma resume writing service that you use, you're helping to spread your work aroundto other people. That doesn't mean that your resume needs to be sent across the nation, however. The service is looking for just the right person to contact. With so many resumes that are going out, many potential candidates won't even get a second chance. Before sending out your resume, be sure to check out the websites of job search engines like Monster, CareerBuilder, and the like. All of them offer profiles of companies that are looking for certain types of employees. They offer a wide variety of job profiles, including those for managers, applicants, and even assistant managers. If you find a few great openings, contact the hiring manager and give him or her a list of qualities that you believe you possess. This way, the hiring manager can get to know you a little better and work with you to determine whether or not you're right for the job. The hiring manager is looking for just the right person to provide their company with the services that they need.

Personal Branding Interview Sharon Lechter - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Personal Branding Interview Sharon Lechter - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Today, I spoke to Sharon Lechter, who is is coauthor, with Robert Kiyosaki, of the international bestseller Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Her latest book is called Think and Grow Rich: Three Feet from Gold: Turn Your Obstacles into Opportunities!.   In this interview, Sharon talks about how to find your inner passion, how she built her brand, how to become more motivated and more. How does one find their inner passion? As we outlined in Three Feet From Gold, start by making a list of the things you enjoy then make another list of where your talents are. When you can find something that engages both something you enjoy and something where you excel it will ignite your inner passion. How did you originally get connected with Robert Kiyosaki? How did that partnership work? I met Robert in 1996, when he visited my husband seeking his counsel on patenting the boardgame CASHFLOW. He asked my help in writing a book.and Rich Dad Poor Dad was the result. He then asked me to be his partner in building the Rich Dad company. Robert, his wife Kim and I built the Rich Dad Companies together for 10 years, we were blessed with success with selling over 27 million books in over 100 countries and 50 languages. Our message of taking financial responsibility for yourself was the right message at the right time. In 2008, I sold me interests back to them in order to build my own company Pay Your Family First and to work with The Napoleon Hill Foundation, and Three Feet From Gold is our first book together! We have three other books in process as well. If someone is lazy, how can they become more motivated? For things to change, you must change. Someone who is naturally lazy must find the need to change firstthrough hardship, or inspiration.   I always recommend inspirationThink and Grow Rich inspired me and I hope that Three Feet From Gold will provide that inspiration to people seeking a better life today. What opportunities opened up for you after the success of Rich Dad Poor Dad? My work on financial literacy and financial education began in 1992, the success of Rich Dad Poor Dad, by being on the New York Times Bestseller list for over 6 years was very supportive in validating my work on financial literacy. In addition, in 2008 President Bush appointed me to the Presidents Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, a council I am still on, now serving President Obama. Our goal is to increase the financial literacy of Americans. How does one discover their own personal success formula? Can you copy someone else? In Three Feet From Gold we outline your Personal Success Equation, ((P + T) x A x A) + F = Personal Success Equation (Passion + Talent) x Association x Action) + Faith = Personal Success Equation While you success equation may appear the same as someone elses. You willingness to take the right action, with the right association and above all, to have the faith in yourself is the secret sauce that will make your success unique. May you all find great success! Sharon Lechter is coauthor of the international bestseller Rich Dad, Poor Dad and the Rich Dad series of books which have sold over 26 million copies and been translated in 50 languages. In addition to building the Rich Dad Organization, Sharon works with the Napoleon Hill Foundation to develop materials to teach Napoleon Hill s principles to young people. In January 2008, she was appointed to the President s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy. Gred S. Reid is a motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur, and the CEO of several successful corporations. Mythbusters Assessment Centres

Mythbusters Assessment Centres Ive had a few student encounters recently that have highlighted some common misconceptions around jobs, careers and life in general. Welcome to the first post of my new mythbusters series, in which Ill be exposing and challenging popular career myths. Myth: You need to beat the other candidates to succeed at assessment centres Employers are recruiting against a standard â€" there are not normally any quotas. If you â€" and your fellow candidates â€" demonstrate the required competencies, theres a strong chance you will progress to the next, or final stage. Have a look at chapter 6 of the AGCAS film, At the assessment centre, which gives a great insight into how group activities/discussions are assessed. Assessment centres can feel highly charged and very competitive, with candidates jostling for top spot but dominating group discussions and tasks could well get you noticed for all the wrong reasons. Recruiters are not looking for autocrats â€" they want team players who can co-operate, collaborate and communicate. Ive seen a number of comments online referring to the testosterone fuelled environment of assessment centres, questioning the merits of a selection process which seemingly favours the alpha male, greed is good stereotype. In reality though, most recruiters view such behaviour negatively â€" dont be tempted to mirror what you see. There is a fine line between being assertive and aggressive; If youre only interested in self promotion and fail to recognise (or acknowledge) the contributions of the other candidates, your interpersonal and management skills may be questioned. Graduate recruiters are certainly looking for evidence of leadership skills, but you can demonstrate this quality in far more effective ways than simply shouting the loudest. Consider how you can add structure to group discussions and exercises; if you feel the group is losing sight of the objective, try to steer them back on course. By skilful management of group activities you can demonstrate a whole range of competencies â€" communication, problem solving, initiative â€" without undermining your fellow candidates. Stand out for the right reasons: Introduce yourself and refer to other candidates by name. Not only is it more courteous but it shows youre paying attention! Volunteer and contribute, but dont monopolise the discussion or exercise. Encourage others to join in, and acknowledge their input. Try to establish rapport with your assessors but dont overdo it. You wont score points though brown nosing. Avoid being negative or critical. Companies want team players, not individualists.

Muhammed cartoons - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog

Muhammed cartoons - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Wikipedia has an up-to-date overview of the whole brouhaha over the Muhammed cartoons. What many seem to be missing is this: The problem is not Islaam, the problem is fundamentalism. There are fundamentalist moslems, yes, but also fundamentalist christians, jews, hindus, anti-homosexuals, conservatives, communists, etc And while fundamentalism seems to be on the rise these days, I believe there is cause for optimism. Today fundamentalist movements and organizations everywhere are being crowded by an increasing modernism driven primarily by science and mass media. Lately the internet has been pressuring them even further. Fundamentalists everywhere currently lash out in panic at seeing their base erode, and well see it again and again, though less and less. In that light its hardly surprising. I mean, we cant really expect fundamentalists to go out quietly, can we? :o) Thanks for visiting my blog. Never Just Apply For a Job- Use the 2 Step Method

Never Just Apply For a Job- Use the 2 Step Method How many times have you simply applied for a job and left your application in the hands of fate? Kind of risky if you ask me. Is there anything you can do to increase the odds that someone will actually review your resume? Use The 2 Step Method Most job applicants wont take the time to do these two steps, and thats the reason I recommend you do it. The first step is easy. You know that drill. You find a job online and modify your resume to showcase the most important qualifications you have for the job and send a kicking cover letter that explains why you want to work at that company (this requires youve done research and know more than the companys name). Step 2 is what I want to talk to you about. Go find someone who works for that company. Simple idea but time consuming to implement. If you can find a strong ally, supporter, cheerleader, or advocate inside the company will that increase the odds of your resume getting reviewed? It is called an employee referral and it is powerful. According to the 2012 CareerXroads source of hiring study, the number one source of external hiring was employee referrals (28%)! Good to know! This is why Step 2 is so important. You are leveraging the power of an inside contact to refer you. LinkedIn- A Powerhouse LinkedIn is the go-to source for finding inside connections. When you go to a companys page on LinkedIn,   see who works there and who you are connected to. If your network is tiny, that is, you have fewer than 100 connections on LinkedIn, finding first level connections is going to be tough*. *It is important to remind you that your LinkedIn connections should mirror your real-life connections and Im pretty sure you interacted with more than 100 other professionals over the past couple of years. But this isnt just a number game. The strength of your relationship with your connection is equally important. Dont Stop Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Pinterest all draw different crowds and may enable you to tap into employees who work for the company you are applying to. Search them all. If you have the same results I did, you will find some employees on one network you were unable to find on others. Unlike LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ are open networks which dont require someone to accept your invite to see what they are saying on these platforms. The benefit to you is that you can or could begin immediately building a relationship with company insiders without waiting for a referral, as you usually would on LinkedIn. Use Twitter and Twitter search tools to find inside connections. Then use Facebook to see who you are connected to in your personal network. We often overlook the fact that our friends and family may know people who can help us professionally. And dont forget about Google+ and Pinterest. You dont have to use them allbut it is good to know about them. More Details I delivered this presentation yesterday and I hope this shows you in more depth what Im talking about. Obviously, without the words behind the slides, there are still details missing, but see what you think. Use the Back Door To Get Your Application Noticed Through Social Media from Hannah Morgan
